"Plan B: Walsh, vanden Heuvel, and Pollitt Pissing on the President" by @Emilia1956

[Hi there. This is a guest submission from friend of ABLC, Emilia1956. -ABLxx]

Well, there’s an election year next year, and I wonder what the hyper-vocal Professional Left will do if Newt or Mitt come to sit in the Oval Office. They whine and whinge and name-call and block the people they perceive to be unwitting plebs of little knowledge, those of us who call out their short-comings and their less-than-subtle race issues. Maybe they think they’ll be loved and listened to once more if the Republicans win the White House.

They can think again. There are those of us who know who screwed this pooch, and your names have been taken.

Not a week goes by that the Professional Left doesn’t go actively looking for a stick with which to beat this President.

This week’s stick come in the form of Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sibelius’s overruling the Food and Drug Administration’s decision to allow girls under the age of seventeen to buy the Plan B morning after pill without prescription.

That got some people’s knickers twisted. Continue reading

All Blame And No Credit From The Professional Left Towards President Obama!

Thank You President Obama For Keeping Your Promise!

I remember all those many months ago when President Obama made clear that he was going to pull our military out of Iraq by the end of 2011 and how it was met with skepticism and pretty much dismissed by those in the Professional Left, who see everything through a filter that turns President Obama into another one of the Bush children.

Here are just some of the headlines from those supposedly über progressive blogs that have spent the last 3 years trashing on the most liberal president in a generation.

Confessions of a so-called 'Obamabot'

My TheGrio.com post in response to Politico

Yesterday’s article in Politico about the so-called “Obamabots” was odd not because of what it said, but because of what it didn’t say. Missing from the article was any attempt to analyze or wrestle with the issues that separate the so-called Emo progs and the pragmatic progressives. Rather, the article was no sound or fury, signifying nothing.

Rather than make a good-faith attempt to unpack the arguments and reasoning of our “ragtag digital cavalry,” or to discern what drives us to “ride to the president’s rescue,” Politico dismisses us as “decidedly amateur supporters” whose intense loyalty and passion at a moment of wide disaffection can be reminiscent of Palin’s core backers.” Palin’s core backers? The misguided sycophants who have no grasp of facts or reality? Really, Politico? Ouch.

The Politico article argues that there is wide disaffection with President Obama. It is this narrative of “wide disaffection,” “disappointment,” and “enthusiasm gaps” that comprise the canard against which we bots push back.

There is no wide disaffection with Obama (and, contrary to Politico’s claim, there certainly is no wide disaffection in the “the supportive precincts of African-American talk radio). There is wide disaffection with Obama among a small percentage of supporters who are avid readers of bloggers with the loudest microphone.

George Clooney: "I'm disillusioned by the people who are disillusioned by Obama" (w/ video)

No kidding.

 George Clooney is making sense:

“I’m disillusioned by the people who are disillusioned by Obama, quite honestly, I am,” he said on ABC News Now’s “Popcorn with Peter Travers” before today’s release of “The Ides of March.”Democrats eat their own. Democrats find singular issues and go, ‘Well, I didn’t get everything I wanted.’ I’m a firm believer in sticking by and sticking up for the people whom you’ve elected.

“If he was a Republican running, because Republicans are better at this,” Clooney continued, “they’d be selling him as the guy who stopped 400,000 jobs a month from leaving the country. They’d be selling him as the guy who saved the auto-industry. If they had the beliefs, they’d be selling him as the guy who got rid of ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,’ who got Osama bin Laden. You could be selling this as a very successful three years.”

What The Professional Left Wants You To Forget!

Can Amnesia Be Self Inflicted?

What bothers me the most about many of the President’s critics on the left is their complete lack of context and history.

When I read something from one of the usual suspects that makes no acknowledgment of either the Republican’s lockstep opposition or the accomplishments of President Obama considering that opposition, I know that they have other motivations.

When I hear Michael Moore on damn near any show he can get on, say that President Obama hasn’t done anything, I have to wonder if it’s because he is just ignorant and hasn’t paid attention for the last 2 & 3/4 years or if he is just blatantly lying for his own gain. There has to be a reason why he wants to push false memes and help Republicans get back in control of the White House.

Emilia has an excellent post about what a dumbass Bill Maher is and she goes on to remind us of what many in the Professional Left don’t want you to remember. It’s called reality.

What’s most annoying and indicative of his lack of perspective and basic common sense, is the same old same old arguments and talking points and the inevitable comparison with FDR.

Obama could have done this. Obama could have done that. He’s caved on everything financial. He gives in to the Republicans. In the words of another well-known liberal scribe, !Yada yada yada yada.”

I want to SCREAM. Continue reading

A Liberal Dilemma: how the Left sees big-picture politics as ‘too little too late’

In a league of his own...

In a league of his own...

President Obama’s new “populism” campaign for income equality and fiscal sanity should be re-igniting the fire in the belly of all those volunteers, donors and supporters who stood in his corner and cheered while he delivered a technical knockout in 2008 against John “the Maverick” McCain and the election masterminds of the Republican Party.

And yet, all I’ve heard – particularly from self-proclaimed “liberals” – is that Obama’s proposal to raise taxes on millionaires and close loopholes for corporations is “too little too late,” that Obama missed the only opportunity he’ll ever get to pass a tax increase on the rich; and that it’s a political ploy that has no chance of passing the Republican-controlled House of Representatives.

Admittedly, the die-hard liberals are partially correct: Even I have to admit that the “Buffett Rule” has about the same chance of passing through the Republican-controlled House as a “no tri-corner hats rule” has of being written into the Tea Party’s bylaws.

But that misses the point.

This is political warfare, and once again it appears the Left has no idea how the game is played, let alone how the war is won.

The Professional "Whiny" Left Revealed!

Stop The Whining, Already!

If you haven’t gone to iTunes and subscribed to the Bubble Genius Bob and Chez Show podcast, you are missing out on the best political analysis around and a lot of great laughs. You can find them at their respective blogs, Bob Cesca’s Aweseome Blog! Go! and Deus Ex Malcontent where they consistently tell it like it is.

I personally look forward to the show like a little kid looks forward to candy.

A few weeks ago, they did a show called “Stop Whining”, which I highly recommend you listen to, after you subscribe to them on iTunes. But in case you prefer reading or are at work and can’t really listen, I took the time to transcribe a large portion of that show for your reading pleasure. I think it exposes the true motivations and agenda of those who have become known as the “Professional Left” or the name I prefer, “Firebaggers”.

As with anyone, I don’t agree with everything they say, but damn near everything in this portion of the show. The one thing I disagree on is the characterization of the blog post by Deaniac83 from The People’s View that was the impetus for a lot of the discussion. Deaniac83′s post about the debt ceiling deal, as I saw it, was about how that deal wasn’t as bad as it was being portrayed by many on the left. I didn’t perceive it as approving of the deal, but rather that the President made the best of a bad situation. Contrary to John Boehner’s characterization that he got 98% of what he wanted, when you look at the deal from a wider perspective, President Obama “ate his lunch”. They quickly move away from that subject and on to an incredibly insightful analysis of the “firebaggers” — who seem intent on helping the Republicans take down our Democratic President Barack Obama. Enjoy and share widely!

Michael Moore quotes Bill Maher on President Obama: "I voted for the black guy and what we got was the white guy."

Enough with the racist bullshit coming from the left.  ENOUGH.

Here comes Michael Moore with his “I’m so disappointed coulda-shoulda-woulda armchair quarterbacking” bullshit, with a skosh of racism:

So, the black part of Obama is the gangster part, and there’s some internal struggle going on and the white side is winning?

I’m sick of this shit. I’m the daughter of a mixed-race couple, and I cannot even express how much this infuriates me.

I’m sure I’ll have more to say about this, but for now I have only one question: What the fuck?

It’s not a joke.  AND IT’S NOT FUCKING FUNNY.

You owe black people and President Obama an apology, Mr. Moore.
