The Colbert Report on Fox & Friends’s “Pap Smears at Walgreens” Lie

What is WRONG with these people?

Here’s more from Media Matters:

Neither Walgreens, nor its in-store healthcare clinics, Take Care Clinics, offer pap smears or breast exams,” Take Care Clinic spokeswoman Lauren Nestler told Media Matters after being emailed the segment.

The clinics, which are a subsidiary of Walgreens, offer health services like flu vaccines and blood pressure screening at 350 Walgreens stores.

Fox & Friends’ false claim about pap smears is the latest in a series of attempts by conservatives to dismiss the importance of Planned Parenthood for women’s health services. As Steve Benen noted, “Republicans, like their cable news network, would like the public to believe the preventative health services provided by Planned Parenthood aren’t especially necessary or worthy of funding, since they’re readily available everywhere — as if every block in America has a Starbucks, an ATM, and screenings for cervical cancer. Except, that’s ridiculous, Fox News lying about it, ironically, only helps underscore the value of Planned Parenthood clinics.”

Do these morons know what a vagina is? What a uterus it is?  Maybe they really don’t know what goes on down there, and that’s why they are so afraid to say the word “uterus” or even think about uteri.  Maybe they simply don’t know what it takes to maintain them (and I’m not talking waxing and vagazzling – either.)

I think we need to call for a “National Introduce Your Vagina to a Republican Day.”  Maybe then these idiots will stop viewing vaginas as caves of wonderment and give them the damn respect they deserve.

Bill Cosby on Education (and that Trump Clown)

“Cosbiness is next to godliness.”

A clip from a Today Show interview with Bill Cosby is spreading throughout Blogistan. In the clip, Cosby essentially tells Trump to put up or shut up.

I have no interest in writing or thinking about Donald Trump. He’s a jackass in a bad hairpiece. He doesn’t buy into this Birther bullshit. Only idiots are birthers, and Trump may be a lot of things, but he is not an idiot.

Quite simply, he is jumping on the Teabilly Bandwagon because he knows that everytime he says the word “birthcertificatekenyanmuslim,” Sean Hannity and the rest of the Fox News asshats cream their collective shorts; so much so, in fact, that Fox gave Trump his own show.

Yup.

If you really want to start your week off with a migraine and a case of diarrhea, watch Mondays with Trump: So Awful that Even Your Bowels Will Be Irritated.

At any rate, if you have not yet seen the clip yet, here it is:

Glenn Beck Focuses Crazy Eyes on 78-Year-Old CUNY Professor

R.I.P. Civil Discourse. We hardly knew ye. ::pours malt beverage on curb::

Glenn the Batshit is at it again.  This time he’s spinning tales about 78-year-old CUNY professor Frances Fox Piven, charging her with “intentionally trying to collapse the economic system”:

On his daily radio and television shows, Glenn Beck has elevated once-obscure conservative thinkers onto best-seller lists. Recently, he has elevated a 78-year-old liberal academic to celebrity of a different sort, in a way that some say is endangering her life.

On Jan. 5, 2010, Glenn Beck delivered one of several attacks on Richard Cloward, now deceased, and his wife and collaborator, Frances Fox Piven, who wrote about ending poverty.

Frances Fox Piven, a City University of New York professor, has been a primary character in Mr. Beck’s warnings about a progressive take-down of America. Ms. Piven, Mr. Beck says, is responsible for a plan to “intentionally collapse our economic system.”  Her name has become a kind of shorthand for “enemy” on Mr. Beck’s Fox News Channel program, which is watched by more than 2 million people, and on one of his Web sites, The Blaze. This week, Mr. Beck suggested on television that she was an enemy of the Constitution.

She must be stopped before she destroys these united states!  Seize her!

Except the basis for his crazy is an article written by Piven and her husband back in 1966: Continue reading

Driving Mr. Morgan Freeman

Oh for fuck’s sake.

I actually yelled that out loud when I watched this video. Obama has been stumping for various candidates and using his “Republicans drove the car into the ditch” metaphor. Analogy? Simile? Rhetoric? Kenyan Crazytalk? At any rate, here’s what he’s been saying:

He said Republicans had driven the economy into a ditch and then stood by and criticized while Democrats pulled it out. [THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID! what?! I may be 36, but I have the mind of a 6 year old.]
Now that progress has been made, he said, “we can’t have special interests sitting shotgun. We gotta have middle class families up in front. We don’t mind the Republicans joining us. They can come for the ride, but they gotta sit in back.”

And here’s a compilation of the reaction from the Asshats on the Right:

These dumb ass race-baiting twatwaffles with their faux concern-trolling and faux outrage… I swear it makes my brain ache.

“::sips mint julep:: My, my, my, President Obama just told all us here Republicans that we can’t drive the car. We gotsta sit in the back. You know what that means, y’all? It means that we’re all Rosa Parks, and Obama, our evil KenyoMuslim massa’ is going straight Jim Crow on our asses. I think I feel a little light-headed. Somebody get me mah smellin’ salts. I feel a case of the vapors comin’ on.

I really wish Fox News–the entire damn network–would die in an excruciating hot fire. That network, in my esteemed opinion, is single-handedly ruining the fabric of this country. LET’S SET THEM ON FIRE! GO GO GO!!

But watch that there video first, so you can get properly outraged. I’ll be standing at the exit, handing out matches and cans of gasoline.

No, no, no. Of *course* Fox News isn't trying to scare white folks.

What would make you say that?

At the end of Jann Wenner’s Rolling Stone article about Obama — which you should read if you have not already (unless you’re prone to unhinged hissy fits about how “Obama huwt my feewings” and want to fuck everything up for the rest of us because “but mooooom!!! Obama huwt my feeeeeeewings!!!!!11“)  — Obama talks about his musical preferences: Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones, old R&B, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and opera.

As for hip-hop, Obama has mostly listened to Jay-Z, but he’s thrown a little Nas and L’il Wayne in the mix as of late because his aide, Reggie Love — really!  his name is Reggie Love!! — is helping him improve his “rap palate.”1

So guess how Fox Nation2 portrayed Obama’s musical tastes?

Well, like this, obvs: Continue reading
