It’s a weekend open thread! Do I have enough commenters for any sort of weekend conversational shenanigans? I hope so! What are your plans for the weekend (besides football, obvs.)?
Also, apropos of the conversation that took place in the comment section of Balloon Juice this week, what are your thoughts on the use of nigga in hip hop? One confused and put-upon commenter stated: “I believe shame and rap music have done everything necessary to remove the power from the word nigger. Don’t believe me? Watch some white people say nigger sometime. It only happens 2 ways, in a whisper or in a shout.”
Thoughts? (Besides, “that’s really stupid.”)
If you have no thoughts or don’t want to share your thoughts, that’s cool! Just watch the damn video:
Remember, asterisk sandwiches don’t solve anything.

But today? Today I’m feeling downright chipper. Hootie hoo!
Plus, it’s Pajiba Butthole Day, so there’s really no reason not to be in a good fucking mood, ya dig?
So here’s an old hip-hop hit that is tangentially butthole-related:
Challah back at me in the comments section. Or don’t. It’s your world. I’m just a squirrel tryin’ to get a nut.
