#TrayvonMartin: Breitbrat Dan Riehl’s Racism Is Hanging Out All Over the Place

This rush to demonize Trayvon Martin is beyond ridiculous.

Leading the charge in the cavalcade of stupidity surrounding Trayvon Martin are the Breitbrats. In this case, Intrepid Blogger Dan Riehl, “found” a Facebook photo of “Trayvon Martin” which is supposed to lend credence to the wingnuts’ desperate efforts to cast Trayvon Martin as a thug.

In the photo, a young black kid is in a room somewhere throwing up middle fingers. This, of course, is damning evidence to the Breitbrats because the kid is black, he looks kind of black, and I’m pretty sure the kid is black.  Also, it’s the first time in history that any kid, black or otherwise has ever mugged for a camera, so he must be up to something.  He’s probably mugging the cameraman!

Sigh.

Sandra Fluke: ‘These attempts to silence women and the men who support them have clearly failed.’

Sandra Fluke penned an outstanding op-ed for CNN in response to the personal smears and insults lobbed by Rush Limbaugh, Patricia Heaton, and CNN’s own Dana Loesch.

It’s a must-read:

(CNN) — Last month, students from several Catholic universities gathered to send a message to the nation that contraception is basic health care. I was among them, and I was proud to share the stories of my friends at Georgetown Law who have suffered dire medical consequences because our student insurance does not cover contraception for the purpose of preventing pregnancy.

I joined these students in speaking at a media event because I believe that stories of how real women are affected are the most powerful argument for access to affordable, quality reproductive health care services.

I also joined these students because now is a critical time to raise this issue in our public consciousness. Continue reading

Is it Time to Expand the #StopRush Campaign to #CNN?

For the past couple weeks, I’ve been highlighting the misogyny and outright disgusting behavior of a cabal of right-wingers, with Oink Limbaugh serving as the Misogynist-in-Chief.  (See below for a full list of posts.)

Limbaugh’s sexist rant against Sandra Fluke caused a social media firestorm, and that firestorm has yielded results. More than 150 advertiser have fled from Limbaugh like rats fleeing a sinking ship, forcing Limbaugh’s show to air free PSAs and, in some cases, to air nothing at all.  That’s right: radio silence during Limbaugh’s show.  It’s never happened before.

The StopRush campaign has done so much damage to Limbaugh that his advertising network, Premiere Networks made the unprecedented and “unusual” move of suspending its ad buys for two weeks. The claimed reason is branding something-or-other and makes absolutely no sense; I suspect that the Limbaugh crew expects that in two weeks, liberals will have moved on to a new issue and forgotten all about Limbaugh.

Sorry, that’s not going to happen.  Not this time. We’re not going to let that happen.

While we must keep up the pressure on Limbaugh’s local and national advertisers, and I think it might be time to take a look at the sort of hate speech that CNN — the purported “place for news” — supports by continuing to feature Breitbart’s hate-apprentice and Erik Erickson’s BFF, Dana Loesch.

CNN’s Dana Loesch Suggests that Sandra Fluke’s Boyfriend Pay for Her Contraception

Dana Loesch is brain-deficient.

Dana Loesch, who is valiantly trying (and failing) to carry Breitbart’s torch, has done some digging into Sandra Fluke’s personal life because of course she has.

Loesch, after discovering that Fluke’s boyfriend is the son of an “entrenched Democrat,” and that Fluke and her boyfriend are currently on vacation in California, concludes that Fluke’s boyfriend should be paying for Fluke’s contraception.  After all, it’s unfathomable that Fluke can’t fund her own sluttiness when she has a “Democrat” boyfriend and enough money to make the harrowing journey from one coast to the other.

Yes, really.  Dana Loesch is that stupid.

Why is Dana Loesch on CNN?  Her idiocy is much better suited for Fox News.  Why doesn’t CNN bid her adieu?  For an organization that is supposed to be a news network [insert derisive snort], CNN is not doing itself any favors by continuing to allow such a mental incompetent and pathological liar to further pollute its  brand (such as it is.)

Is Candy Crowley Getting Paid For The Work She's Doing For Romney?

Steve Benen put up a post the other day about an exchange between Candy Crowley and David Axelrod that is a perfect illustration of how the media has morphed into stenographers for politicians, mostly Republicans. Many in the media have abandoned critical thinking and analysis in lieu of the easy routes – polls, talking points and false equivalency nonsense.

Here is the exchange that has Candy Crowley doing the heavy lifting for the Romney campaign.

CROWLEY: But couldn’t that huge gap, which is a pretty big gap between those who think you could handle the economy as opposed to Mitt Romney — couldn’t it also be that, from the day — from the month the president took office, we still have 1.7 million fewer jobs in the marketplace?

AXLEROD: Candy, let’s have — you know what, I’m happy to have that discussion. Do you know that, when he was campaigning for president in 2007 and 2008, Governor Romney had nothing but praise for the economic policies that were in place at that time, as America was sliding into the worst recession since the Great Depression, after eight years in which we…

CROWLEY: But this isn’t Romney. This is a fact.

CNN Contributor Dana Loesch pooh-poohs international law, common decency

A video of four U.S. Marines urinating on the corpses of Taliban fighters sparked outrage this week, and the Pentagon announced today that it was moving toward proffering charges against the servicemembers who appear in it.

This may have come as a surprise to BigGovernment.com Editor-in-Chief and CNN “Political Analyst” Dana Loesch, who took a distinctly positive view of the act Thursday on her 97.1 FM News Talk radio show.

Had she been there, Loesch said, she would gladly “drop trou and do it, too.”

As listeners were presumably scrambling to find Internet videos of adorable kittens in order to relieve themselves of that mental image, Loesch went on: “That’s me though. I want a million cool points for these guys. Is that harsh to say? Come on, people – this is a war. What do people think this is?”

The more appropriate question is: What does Dana Loesch – “editor,” “journalist,” “paid CNN contributor” Dana Loesch – think this is?

Whatever Loesch might think “war” means, the people paid to engage in it are not taking this lightly: Continue reading

"We are the 53%" Using Fake Images: Nigerian Dude Living in Spain Not Really a 53 Percenter [Updated!]

Update: At the request of Mr. Akande, I have removed his likeness from this blog post.

***The post in question has mysteriously disappeared from Erickson’s website.  I’m sure Breitbart and his sidekick Dana Loesch are all over this story.  Right?  Guys?

YOU LIE!

Erik Erickson (Teabilly Nitwit and CNN employee) helped found the “We are the 53%” tumblr as a response to the viral “We are the 99%” tumblr:

In response to the now-viral Tumblr post “We are the 99 Percent,” some conservatives have launched their own venture “We are the 53 percent”. The site, started by RedState.org contributor Erick Erickson and Josh Trevino of the conservative Texas Public Policy Foundation, features those who purport to represent the 53 percent of Americans who pay federal income taxes.

The inaugural post features Erickson holding a handwritten sign in the style of the more famous blog, that states:

I work 3 jobs. I have a house I can’t sell. My family insurance costs are outrageous. But I don’t blame Wall Street. Suck it up you whiners. I am the 53% subsidizing you so you can hang out on Wall Street and complain.

But as Think Progress pointed out:

CNN Tea Party Debate Audience Cheers at Idea of Letting Sick Uninsured Man Die

Stays Klassy.

The CNN debate last night was wretched. It was everything that is wrong with this country — including feckless media and pundunces who should be ashamed for mainstreaming Teabilly bullshit — crammed into a studio so laden with patriotic lights, flags, and other Americana that even the creators of South Park and Team America were likely shocked and awed.

Then came the “cheering for Rick Perry’s high execution rate” moment: The Tea Party audience cheered — actually cheered at the notion of letting an uninsured man die if he didn’t decide for himself to buy Liberty Health Insurance from Liberty Health Associates, using his Liberty cell phone:

CNN’s Rick Sanchez: Jon Stewart is a Bigot! The Jews Are Running Everything! EVERYBODY PICNICK!!!111

Dumber than a flock of dodo birds.1

Rick Sanchez? You, sir, are an asshat of massive proportions.  A masshat, perhaps.  Making anti-Semitic remarks on the damn radio and getting fired from CNN as a result? Nice job, dipshit. What the hell were you thinking?  If there’s one thing you should know by now, it’s don’t fuck with The Stewart.  I mean, really.  The Stewart “pwns” as the kids are saying.

Jezebel, my favorite the most asinine “feminist” blog in Blogistanland tried to step to Jon Stewart and failed.  I wrote about that fuckery here, here, here, and here.

And now here comes Rick Sanchez with his own brand of fuckery, thinking he can step to Jon Stewart when legions of angry “feminists” couldn’t do it?  Ninja, please: Continue reading
