Boehner Boneheadedness.

John Boehner Claims President Obama's Politics are 'Almost Un-American'

Orange Julius held a press conference ahead of the State of the Union address (which is at 6 pm ABL time), during which he whipped out his dog whistle and blew it as hard as he could:

“This is a president who said I’m not going to be a divider, I’m going to be a uniter, and running on the politics of division and envy is – to me it’s almost un-American.

Look, buddy. You can signal to the assclowns in the Tea Party that Obama is a secret Kenyo-Muslim all you want — it won’t change the fact that you are the worst Speaker in history. It also won’t change the fact that you have demonstrated time and time again that you are incapable of controlling your caucus.

The Quick and Dirty on the Payroll Taxcut Standoff

Orange Julius can’t control his caucus… still.

Mitch McConnell made a payroll taxcut deal that was slated to pass the House. Boehner was cool with the deal. McConnell and Harry Reid high-fived. Harry Reid adjourned the Senate. Boehner called the deal a “good deal” and a “victory.” Then, this morning, Boehner did an about-face. He has rejected the deal and put the screws to the middle class — again.

Of course, Boehner now wants the Senate to return to Washington and renegotiate.  Harry Reid isn’t having it though. In a statement released today, he said,

“My House colleagues should be clear on what their vote means today. If Republicans vote down the bipartisan compromise negotiated by Republican and Democratic leaders, and passed by 89 senators including 39 Republicans, their intransigence will mean that in ten days, 160 million middle class Americans will see a tax increase, over two million Americans will begin losing their unemployment benefits, and millions of senior citizens on Medicare could find it harder to receive treatment from physicians.

“Senator McConnell and I negotiated a compromise at Speaker Boehner’s request. I will not re-open negotiations until the House follows through and passes this agreement that was negotiated by Republican leaders, and supported by 90 percent of the Senate.

Orange Julius: No Jobs Plan For You, America!

The GOP’s laser-like focus on jobs just cut the economy to pieces.

Orange Julius is firmly on the side of the One Percent At The Top, as if that was news or something.

To convince Obama how futile this effort is, at least in terms of getting legislation passed, House Speaker John Boehner’s office has come up with a new slogan and a snarky infographic to go along with it.

“All Roads”: New Infographic Looks at @WhiteHouse Plan to #PassTheBill,” reads the Twitter-friendly title of a new post on the Speaker’s blog.

Cutting through it all, the point is Republicans want Obama to end his public campaign to either build support for the bill or (more likely), align Democrats behind it and then run against Republicans for blocking the American Jobs Act. Right now Capitol Hill Republicans are putting a lot of effort into making sure it doesn’t reach that point. They’re trying to trip up Senate Democrats as they coalesce around the bill, and they’re insisting it’s “dead” in the House. This is part of that effort.

But the graphic’s kinda funny, so take a look.

Yeah, it looks like somebody in Boehner’s office went to Kinko’s.  What, no Comic Sans font?

ZOMG! ScheduleGate!! President Obama is a Cave-Dwelling Cave Meister!

This is Obama’s Katrina.

For those of you who aren’t aware, Obama caved BIG-TIME yesterday… or something.

See, he wanted to address Congress about his jobs plan on September 7, which is Congress’s first day back from summer recess. (You remember jobs, right?  Most of you probably don’t have one because Congress refuses to do its job and come up with a plan to put Americans back to work.)

John Boehner, in an unprecedented yet unsurprising move,  a letter saying, “No” — after initially offering no objection to the Obama administration’s chosen date:

[A]s the Majority Leader announced more than a month ago, the House will not be in session until Wednesday, September 7, with votes at 6:30 that evening. With the significant amount of time – typically more than three hours – that is required to allow for a security sweep of the House Chamber before receiving a President, it is my recommendation that your address be held on the following evening, when we can ensure there will be no parliamentary or logistical impediments that might detract from your remarks.

Despite the fact that the date was floated to the GOP and the GOP didn’t object, the White House pushed the address back a day because getting into a slapfight with Boehner would have only served to make everyone — not just the GOP, but also the Administration — look like asshats.

He pushed back the date by a whole day? The horror! The horror!

Delaying the address definitely proves that Obama caves on everything, and this is why he’s going to lose in 2012. Voters will remember the Day the Address Got Delayed By A Day, and voters will view it as Obama being a wimp (as Markos called him) or petty and incompetent (as Jon Walker of FDL called him) or so weak that he doesn’t even realize he’s being weak (as Cenk Ugyur called him).

What the hell is wrong with these people?

Every single Professional Left blog has front-page posts claiming that Obama is a wimp, a cavemeister, naive, petty, or incompetent:

NANCY SMASH! boehner crash :(

Oh Boehner.  I’m almost starting to feel sorry for you.  Almost.

As I’m reading the reports of Boehner’s postponement of the debt ceiling vote (INORITE?!  HOOCOODANODE?!), it occurred to me that Pelosi is probably laughing her San Francisco values ass off at Boehner’s utter incompetence.

Remember the transfer of power from Pelosi to Boehner?  Remember how she jokingly gave Boehner that oversized gavel as a gag?

He has proven himself unworthy of that gavel.

Ahem. Speaker Boehner? A word please, sir?

Um, Speaker Boehner? Sir? About that press conference of yours last night? I’d like to correct a few misstatements lies, if you don’t mind.

These are difficult times in the life of our nation. Millions are looking for work, have been for some time, and the spending binge going on in Washington is a big part of the reason why.

People aren’t struggling because of this mythical “spending binge” you talk about. They are struggling because YOUR party’s president crashed our economy a few years back, sir.
