“WE ARE IN A FUCKING CRISIS IN TEXAS.” -@scATX
FORT WORTH — Police are trying to identify the man who entered the West 7th office of State Sen. Wendy Davis Tuesday afternoon and threw two firebombs just outside the door.
Two staffers were in the third floor office when the attack occurred around 4 o’clock. One of them had to leap over the flames to escape, then went to the break room, grabbed an extinguisher and put out the fire.
Investigators said Sen. Davis was not in the office at the time of the incident, but was at her law office closer to downtown Fort Worth.A staffer told News 8 the Democratic lawmaker was alerted about what happened and that security at Davis’ other local office was tightened as a result.
No one was hurt, but the lawmaker’s office was damaged by the fire.
It’s unclear yet whether or not the firebombing of Senator Davis’s office is connected to her advocacy for women’s health and pro-Planned Parenthood stance, but it sure feels that way to me and to the pro-choice women in Texas:
TX state senator @WendyDavisTexas‘ office was FIREBOMBED tonight. She is pro-@PPact. THIS IS NOT A COINCIDENCE. @AngryBlackLady #teamuterati

Ah yes. More white christian male domestic terrorism.
Too bad we refuse to call it terrorism, in those cases.
I can’t even. I’m just numb and stunned by this.
These so-called “pro-life” people sure do like their guns and bombs and maiming and killing people.
I am so glad I don’t live in Texas anymore, but even though I don’t this stuff scares me and angers me and frustrates me.
I’m for free speech, but this kind of hate propaganda needs to stop. I’m very sure the paranoia and mongering that’s been going on in the last 10 years has a hand in this kind of act. Hate speech caused that Unitarian Church to get shot up, cost Dr. Tiller his life, almost caused an attack on the Tides Foundation, injured Gabrielle Giffords and now this.
Maybe I’m jumping the gun, but it’s the first thing that came to my mind.
To fight this kind of violence, keep informed about hate groups through the Southern Poverty Law Center’s “Intelligence Report”. Keep you legislators informed by providing their staff with these reports and HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE when the opposition uses these dirtbags to come before hearings to testify. Hold your legislators accountable.
It could be a fanatical supporter, trying to create sympathy and support for their cause by making the other side look bad. Remember Tawana Brawley and Ashley Tood? That sort of thing happens a lot more often than any of us want to admit. We’ve certainly been burned enough with these kind of situations to know better than to jump to conclusions without proof.
The anti-women anarchists are on the move. Here in GA last week someone broke into an organization run by a group of pro-choice doctors. I believe this group was targeted because its members have been fighting the anti-woman legislation these dickheads in the state legislature have been writing and passing. The perpetrators stole all of their computer information. I’m fairly certain this group of hooligans will use this information to harass any doctor affiliated with this organization. Intimidation and violence have become the name of the game for these anti-woman groups throughout the nation, and they’ve been enabled by the far right legislators in the states and in Congress, and I certainly hope that they suffer the consequences in November at the ballot box.
The PD has announced an arrest. Follow @CBSDFW for an update at 10:00 am Central Time.
The fire may not have been related to a pro-choice stance. I hope not.

I find it interesting that these types of incidents are always the work of some “crazy” homeless man. This firebombing. There was one at a Florida abortion clinic. Giffords shooting after Palin’s cross-hairs maps.
I wonder where these “crazy” people get these ideas. Funny, that.
@sherriffruitfly and scATX – maybe you should hold off on shooting those mouths so fast next time. Not a white religious prolife nut case running wild in Tehas. Just a mentally- ill brother of another mother, Cedric Steele. Michael Barber – to fight this kind of violence give truth a chance.
