WTF.
State Representative Alan Dick (the jokes write themselves) doesn’t think that a woman’s pregnancy is really “her pregnancy” and would have “a little more peace” about this nasty abortion business if the impregnator was required to consent to the impregnatee’s decision to terminate the pregnancy.
[I]f you’re not fully convinced yet that Alaska is the next front in the GOP’s war on women, you just have to listen to State Rep. Alan Dick. He said that he doesn’t believe that when a woman is pregnant, it’s really “her pregnancy.” As a matter of fact, he would advocate for criminalizing women who have an abortion without the permission via written signature from the man who impregnated her. He stated, “If I thought that the man’s signature was required… required, in order for a woman to have an abortion, I’d have a little more peace about it…”
No word on exactly how much more peace Dick would have about it. My guess is not much.
Also, no word on what women who become pregnant as a result of rape are supposed to do in Dick’s perfect world. Maybe women should carry waiver forms on them at all times. You know — just in case.
When are Republicans going to drop the charade and just start building breeding farms for wayward women? You know how we get. So emotional and sensitive. So dumb and naive. We’re liable to abort our babies by accident if there’s not a man around telling us what’s what.
We need the dicks of the world to lend us a helping hand.

“Can we please vote these fuckers out?”
Depends almost entirely on whether or not “progressives” are done “teaching Obama a lesson”, I would think. Ask FDL.
Perhaps all women needing an abortion should list Representative Alan Dick as the impregnator. What if it was a one-night stand? Or your father? Or your abusive husband/boyfriend? Would I need their permission then? Women are NOT property and they are certainly NOT breeders. I believe making a woman keep a baby would be called slavery.
Well that says it all really, he’d ‘have a little more peace about it’ if the man had to give his permission. Shows the real reason plain and simple. Not caring for unborn children, not genuinely upset by the idea of abortion, but that women are too stupid to make the decision. If a man made it, he’ll trust it’s the right decision though, because as far as he’s concerned even the stupidest man is smarter than the smartest woman.
“We need the dicks of the world to lend us a helping hand.”
And the dicks of the world will need a helping **hand as well since it’s likely they won’t be getting much else.

I just threw up a little in my mouth.
If if comes to it, I will just fill out a permission slip, put it as a pdf file on my blog. It will have my signature, and you can use that. Anything to help Rep Dick to get a little more peace, y’know.
So if his wife or his daughter (if he has daughters) could get raped and impregnated and they need to go look up the rapist and get his permission for an abortion if that’s what they wanted to do?
Yeah, makes all kinds of sense.
Except that I think he would do one of two things if that happened:
1. He would take his wife or daughter to a place where they could get a safe abortion if that’s what they wanted to do; or
2. He would force them to bear the child and spend the rest of his life shaming the woman and the child.
Or to add on to two, use them as “proof” that motherhood through rape “isn’t that bad” so an abortion isn’t necessary.
That too.
Wow, that Alan – what a dick!
Home sweet home… Someone votes for these people and it floors me… Permission from a rapist? The perpetrator of incest? That’s bloody sick, but these sorts really appear to believe a woman’s body belongs universally to men, to be managed by men. Dick is right.
