Over the weekend while my server was getting a makeover, I posted on my Tumblr about Patricia Heaton’s jokes misogynist insults lobbed at Sandra Fluke. I am reposting here.

Patricia Heaton, star of ABC’s The Middle, high-tailed it off of Twitter recently, presumably because she could not defend the nasty and misogynistic insults that she lobbed at Sandra Fluke. She also encouraged her “Tweatons” to lob at Ms. Fluke.
Unfortunately for her, in connection with one of my posts on Oink-Gate, I took a screenshot of her Twitter stream. Here it is:

(Did any of these idiots read Sandra Fluke’s testimony? Nowhere in it does she talk about her sex life or whether she even has sex. We don’t know if she uses contraception or anything else about her private life!)
Well, well, well. When I find myself wishing that some insured people would get cancer so that they can find out what it’s like when the insurance pool covers their treatment I don’t nurse that feeling, but I don’t fight it like I used to either. Sad thing is, I think a lot of people with the attitudes we see expressed here are absolutely convinced that it’s always different for THEM.
And Katie, be sure to tell any man who might want to marry you that you think dealing with children is the best form of birth control, and try to tell him what that MEANS.
I look forward to her joining Victoria Jackson and Kirk Cameron in the Irrelevant Wingnut Has-Beens Hall of Fame.
Thank you for doing this, ABL. It’s funny to see Rush’s hangers-on scurry back under the cupboards when the kitchen light is turned on.
It may sound odd, but I found Patricia Heaton’s gibes and slurs even more offensive than Rush’s. It’s no more than you’d expect from Rush, but Heaton likes to parade herself around as a good Christian woman. In fact she even had the nerve to tweet that she had apologised for her remarks because they weren’t “how you show Christ’s love.” So she has the gall to lecture the rest of us on good Christian behavior.
Hope Heaton likes the flyover country circuit, cuz something tells me that any future with the mainstream just took a nosedive. Enjoy obscurity, sweetheart.
And there was a time I enjoyed Patricia Heaton as an actress. This is supposed to be a composed Christian conservative who cares about all life Whether you’re pro-choice or pro-life, that just unnecessary and digusting.
Fluke didn’t talk about her sex life at the hearing, and even if she did, its really none of Heaton’s or any other Right Wing panty raider’s business.
There are plenty of good, moral women who take birth control – some women use birth control because they’d rather not pop out kids every time they’re intimate with their partner. Some others use birth control so they can actually have children. See, hormonal imbalances can make women infertile. One common treatment for this ailment is the pill.
Whatever the reason, unless you’re that woman or her partner, its not your business. Just like Jehova Witnesses shouldn’t get froggy when other people get blood transfusions, Christian Scientists can’t stop other people from taking prescriptions and Jewish people tend not care if people take Flu vaccine or have pig heart valve replacements because its technically not kosher – all the Catholic vagina police need back out of other people’s private medical lives.

These comments are more mean spirited and less productive than anything Ms Heaton said. I do not agree with Rush Limbaughs statements they were rude and derogatory. Lead by example not by continuing to sling the mud. She apologized and rightfully so. It takes much more integrity to say “apology accepted” than to call names and spew venom. Keep it to the facts people we”ll get much further.
you know, if you’re going to cut and paste comments across multiple blogs, you might want to read the comment section first. had you done so here, you would have found that no one made any comment that even comes close to being as mean-spirited than heaton’s.

Once is an oops, twice is not Christian; 7 times is thoughtful, mean and hateful. Just like Rash, you cant keep doing the same wrong thing and appologize when you get caught, it does not make it right. I am pretty sure a good Christian would have caught it by #2. I know my momma would have washed my mouth by half way through #1; she has a low threshold for asswipes.

And I’m still looking for any “misogynist” comments in the feed, it only seems to contain anger towards people who want their birth control paid out of taxpayer money. (i.e. people who want more entitlements)

Patricia Heaton is a COWARD Bully hiding behind Twitter. Email ABC and demand that useless show “The Middle” be cancelled and boycott any advertisers. I did.
Patricia Heaton should be ashamed for following Limbaugh off the cliff. Her “apology” was no more meaningful than his. She participated in the politics of personal destruction and deserves no sympathy. I hope she will now just shut up, but realize that people like her have no sense of propriety or decency and that she’ll keep making a fool of herself.
She was on a game show a couple of years ago, and bombed because she couldn’t do simple math about making change. She’s a knucklehead, in all ways.
