I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: The President of these United States is a feminist. It would also appear that he is a really nice guy.
President Obama called Sandra Fluke, the Georgetown University law student who testified at a House contraception hearing. Rush Limbaugh recently had harsh words for Fluke, calling her a “slut.”
Fluke told MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell that Obama “encouraged me and supported me and thanked me for speaking out about the concerns of American women.”
Obama also told Fluke that she should tell her parents that “they should be proud.”
Some people have Rush Limbaugh on their side. Me? I have President Barack Obama.
I like my odds.

PFFT! He should’ve personally marched into Limbaugh’s studio and punched him in the mouth — and his failure to do so proves that he’s WEAK A CORPORATE SELL-OUT WORSE THAN BUSH!!!!
Seriously, in a land of the Soulless and Crass, this guy stands up head and shoulders above the a-holes. Well, I guess that’s usually where one’s head and shoulders are, but you get my point.

And thank you for posting this — thanks for EVERYTHING you post. Underneath the rage and snark that usually runs my day there is also a great deal of sorrow that even in 2012 at the age of 47 and sans reproductive organs, I am STILL fighting for the most basic rights of women to control their own damn bodies without facing the worst kind of ugliness from men who are SOOO courageous — as long as they can hide behind their studio walls.
So knowing that the guy in the Oval Office gets it makes me so happy.

Randi Rhodes (and can we send her an honorary Angry Black Lady title) just said that this was not an election where it was between the lesser of 2 evils. I could not begin to agree more and this just proves it. This is the choice between a good man with a good heart and some very, very evil people. Period. And I have no time for those who want to whine about their pet issues and Pauline wisdom.
Thank you, Mr. President and Ms. Fluke… Mr. President once again you show your compassion, intelligent, empathy toward the lease of thee.. Once again that you stand by your words (I am my brother keeper, I am my sister keeper)…
It also proof the cowardice of the repub. party, and they’re hated for one man… And people need to wake up before it’s to late..
And I love the fact that he didn’t say one word to or about Rush Limbaugh. Just totally ignored him and spoke straight to Ms. Fluke about her concerns. I’m sure he was thinking of his own daughters.
But I bet he had some ripe words to say about RL in private.
