Why I Support Obama.

THIS. OVER AND OVER UNTIL THE END OF DAYS.

This is going viral on the Facebooks, and I have one thing to say: HELL. YES.

Call me what you will:  Obamabot, Obot, Obama apologist, ni-CLANG!, cultist, repulsive, loyalist, odious or Obamacrat.

Say what you will: that I voted for him because he’s black; that I’d defend him if he raped a nun on live television; that I “ooze limitless intellectual dishonesty”; that I support drone strikes and must hate Muslim children, or that I’m racist. (On that last point, see my Tagline up there ?.)

Call him what you will: “skinny ghetto crackhead,” ni-CLANG!, Kenyan, Dear Leader, Muslim, Usurper, food stamp president, Obummer, Obambi, Barry from the Block, or “that fucking guy.”

I don’t care. I support him.  I’m not disappointed.  My uterus supports him and as far as I know, it’s not disappointed either.

So in a word: Bring it on, motherfuckers.***

***That was four words.  Sue me.

  1. Because he’s the best candidate running, who can actually win.

There, done. No drama. Never understood the teeth-gnashing and drama about it. My job as voter is to vote for the best available. That’s Obama. Done.

  2. I’d sue you, but you’re my lawyer. That’d get awkward. :)

  3. thank you. it’s been one of those days, and coming home to see that made my night much better.

  4. Well done. I’m in! yes we will!!

  5. This post has me so amped right now! Obamabot with pride and unapologetic!

  6. I will re-tweet this and re-tweet this until November. I, too will be voting for him as will the rest of my family.

  7. Oh, but don’t you wish “Bring it on, motherfuckers” would be his campaign slogan? Think we could convince Plouffe?

  8. He ain’t perfect; indeed, he has committed impeachable offenses. And yet I will vote for him ENTHUSIASTICALLY over any GOP opponent. Any of them would make our economic and social problems worse; at least for of them have serious mental issues, too.

  9. Even this angry homo-anarchist realizes he’s the best choice. Though I may get ..er..passionate,I’m not clueless. Why? Cause it’s not just about me.
    He wins,we all win.
If I know it,why are people still on the fence? What more does he have to do for them to get it?

  10. I’m still waiting for the people who sneer about him being “spineless” and “a sell-out” to show me their brilliant plan for making things move faster in a progressive direction with the batshit-insane opposition that Obama and the Dems in Congress have faced. (Hint: any use of “bully pulpit” or its variant won’t be taken seriously — unless you wanna tell me how all of Bush’s “stay the course” tough talk bully pulpiting made you a supporter of the war in Iraq, in which case you’re a full-on fecking eejit — or Glenn “I gave Bush the benefit of the doubt” Greenwald — see http://www.bookbrowse.com/excerpts/index.cfm?fuseaction=printable&book_number=1812).

Funny how so many of the most vocal “progressive” opponents I know are male and pale and privileged — you know, the kinds of guys who don’t think they should EVER have to wait for “service.” (And yes, there are MANY white guys — privileged and otherwise — who support the president or are smart about how they criticize and don’t use right-wing framing.)

    • It makes me angry reading that from Glenn Greenwald and then to hear him say that bs and then accuse us of selling out our principles.

    • Kerry,
First I agree, I don’t think the President could have done much better. The “bully pulpit” is wishful thinking! Folks who say that don’t know very much about how American Government works nowdays. Second I don’t think President Obama is all that Liberal, I believe he is what he says, more of a Moderate. That is fine, I am pretty sure that a Liberal wouldn’t get elected as President in today’s America. We have not had a real Liberal (classic or modern) since McGovern got the Democratic nomination and he lost, big. Could President Obama have fought harder on some of his program, maybe. His program would have made it though the House but it would boil down to the same four or five Senators that the President had to make a deal. Nobody would say Ben Nelson was a Liberal!! So all in all the President has done well. When you look at the total picture he has my vote. The Grennwald’s of the world want President Obama to be pure. They also need something to complain about….

      • I agree, Gar. FDR and Johnson, even with greater majorities, also had to compromise to get their social programs passed, and they both had some glaring deficiencies in civil rights (FDR) and foreign policy (LBJ with Vietnam). I think Obama is truly more about making government work to the best of its abilities to serve as many people as possible. And if progressives want more of a voice, they need to get more asses in the seats — in Congress, in state houses, in local city councils, school boards, etc. Find the candidates, run them, do good old-fashioned shoe-leather organizing — and if at first you don’t succeed, don’t fold up the tents and go home. Because I guaran-damn-tee that the GOP won’t be sitting on the sidelines waiting for the perfect candidate. That’s one place where they’re smarter and tougher than liberals — they know voting matters, and they never, ever, give up.

  11. Why I support Obama.
Because when I voted for him we undertook a compact together,
Because I trusted him, and I still do.

  12. Lex, he committed impeachable offenses? Kindly list them so I can be enlightened. If you think he did, don’t vote for him. Be true to yourself and stay home.

  13. Barack Obama and then President Obama is the best thing to happen to our country. He brings out the best in people too, but, he also has this uncanny knack for exposing those whose greatest claim is being brainwashed by propaganda machines..right and profiteering left.

“Impeachable offenses”? Because of what Dennis Kucinich was whining/fundraising about?

  14. Amen! I’m in like Flynn (whoever he is!). He is intelligent, compassionate, capable, trustworthy, and the best president in my lifetime.

  15. And yet, no one has made the “My uterus is in good hands with Obama” bumper stickers for shits and giggles

  16. This guy has ruined this country , the person that wrote that sign is a idiot. Vote for him again and say goodbye to our great land. Worst president ever, only looking out for his own agenda, isn’t it funny his electric car can only be afforded buy the rich & they are the ones getting the 10000$ tax break, that’s backwards of what he preaches. What a failure, wake up America , this guy wants the government to run your life. Save our country, get him out of office, or you will regret it. Gas was 1.79 a gallon when he took office, now pushing 4$, all because he wants you to drive a electric car that if you turn the heat on dies, lol. What a terrible want to be president.

    • That Guy With The Ponytail

Good to see that there are still people out there resisting mental health with every fiber of their beings.

      Let me guess, Ron Paul?

      • Lex/Alex, if you have nothing good to say about the Presidenet, there are many troll friendly sites you can go to. Lex/Alex, we are too intelligent here for the likes of you here. Gather up your white sheet and run don’t walk to the other sites. Hold the cone on your head with one hand, don’t let it fall of. We will recognize you.

    • Gas only went so low due to people not buying it after the massive economic crash, so lets stop the shit.

Nice try, troll, but you’re not dealing with gullible neophytes here

  17. It must be said in the case of LBJ that he also had the help of Moderate Republicans to pass all of his social programs. Since President Clinton didn’t get much help from Republicans (93-95) they (Republican Party) have not joined in to pass anything a Democratic President wants to accomplish. So President Obama is stuck at times.

  18. Spoiled Yapping dog

Obama is going to win, the flying monkey right is going to freak and I’m afraid they are going to do something stupid. It will fail of course, but it will pull the curtain on the kabuki theatre that passes for discourse around here.
While the net warriors are screaming for all out war, they haven’t gotten the stones to leave their parents basement.

  19. why should I pay for other women’s abortion and birth control pills with my tax money -pay for them yourself–, better yet –keep your knees together!!!
Public schools are already free in America—, if Johnny does not learn , properly—that’s the parents fault , not the schools , and higher learning is not for everyone—, there are community colleges that are affordable– why should I pay for your kids education , I have to pay for my own !

    • That Guy With The Ponytail

“…why should I pay for your kids education , I have to pay for my own !” (sic)

Clearly, you skipped most of it. And I’m not referring to your abysmal punctuation or sentence structure.

    • This has got to be a sock-puppet, right? But on the chance that it’s not — Ms. Casey, these “community colleges” of which you speak might be able to acquaint you with the basic rules of written English so that when you venture forth onto the internet, you do not instantly mark yourself as a barely literate moron.

And by the way — I don’t support subsidies to big agriculture for ethanol, and to many of our military ventures, yet I don’t recall seeing multiple-choice boxes on my income tax return that would allow me to pick and choose where my taxes go.

  20. I have noticed that the people who write about their taxes going towards helping others cannot spell or punctuate. I wonder why? Seems as if Brenda Casey needs to go back to school. She was absent the days the teacher taught punctuation.

  21. ?1. Obama’s healthcare bill is an expensive monstrosity that does nothing for the average person (see all the waivers handed out to his friends) 7. They already pay more than everyone else 8. Unemployment is up over 5% under his Presidency and he has raised the deficit in 3 years as much as Bush in 8, yet Bush is the devil for doing so.

  22. obama’s impeachable offenses
deploying U.S. armed forces and conducting war against Libya without Congressional authorization or a declaration of war.
gave the International Monetary Fund increased power over the economy of the United States and other sovereign nations.
shutdown and destruction of the NASA manned space flight program,
Obama’s health-care plan, modeled on Hitler’s T-4 policy, in its scheme to deny medical care and treatment to certain categories of people, constitutes a crime against humanity under the Nuremberg Principles to which the United States is bound by law and treaty.
Obama’s violation of the separation of powers, by means of unilateral executive actions, in violation of U.S. law including treaty law
made dozens of appointments of special “czars” and recess appointments, to circumvent Congressional oversight and the Senate confirmation process.

Try actually reading something rather than voting based on what you have been told by others of like mind. If you still wish to vote for this man then you are part of the destruction of what was once the most powerful and envied nation on earth

  23. Punctuation, Really? that’s all you’ve got? Ever notice how, when certain groups can’t dispute the truth they attack the person telling the truth on trivial points.

  24. Wow, right wing talking points, are you fucking kidding me?

So, the 29, only 29 recess appointments of Barack Obama is more offensive then the nearly 200 of George W, or over 300 of Reagan? Its his right to make recess appointments during Senate recess, and dont give me that pro forma mess, those things are bullshit anyway.

War has not been formally declared since 1947. It was all Presidential action. If you want to complain about the exansion of executive power, blame W and the AUMF, and if you a Ronulan, thank Ron Paul for voting for it.

And also, does that mean the Heritage Foundation is a bunch of Nazis as well? Employee mandated health insurance was their idea. He coulda gone with the liberal idea of Medicare for all like Ed Kennedy, or employer mandated healthcare from another liberal…….Richard Nixon

And it was Reagan who came up with czars, who was the one who had drug czars? Are you fucking kidding me? Reagan is too liberal for you now? He cant appoint people to his cabinet, that the damn Congress and Senate when they wasnt playing with their dicks approved off, then come back and complain?

Wow, man, you are a joke

  25. “Impeachable offenses” is Pig-Ignorant Cracker-Speak for “Presidenting While Black.”

  26. Sigh, it seems people have not learned their lesson with this president. I’m not gonna get in an argument here, and this will be the only post I make. Ignorance is indeed apparently bliss, go ahead and vote for him again…

    • “This president” is exactly who he appears to be – a good and great man doing his best under dreadful conditions.

I don’t believe you are any of those things.

    • I know, I know, it’s such a pain that we can’t see just how SPECIAL Ron Paul is… boo hoo.

    • What are those lessons we’re too ignorant to learn, oh great swami?

Please, enlighten us ignant folk here

  27. Rebekah J. Baumgarner M.D.

I am a excellent physician who is seeing the early effect of big spending, increased federal incroachment and unrighteous insurance policies. So Explain to me how Obamacare will improve the medical system? We will shift an increasing debt to our children and grandchildren. The elderly will not recieve the care the require, they can’t afford their medicine now. By the way “you can keep your doctor” is a lie. The food stamp president has increased spending to unprecidented levels, increased the welfare base and hopelessly laid a debt, our children can not pay back. Please stop with the insults, look at what is happening. Increased gas prices, worsening economy, increased unemployment. Is this the so called”hope and change”you were looking for?

[copy/paste fail. "Please stop with the insults, look at what is happening." Who insulted you exactly? And I highly doubt you're "a excellent physician." What's the going rate for astrotrolling? 86 cents per comment? Is this what Romney means about creating jobs? Cheers! -ABLxx]
