  1. Thank you. Those are lovely pictures of a lovely human.

  2. They are wonderful photos, except there’s one I just can’t figure out: the Purple Heart one which is a rear view of the President wearing a light colored suit with some weird black thing hanging from or stuck to the back. I keep thinking I should be able to figure out what that is but can’t wrap my mind around it, like a super optical illusion puzzle.

I really love the one at the MLK monument.

    • The Prez is wearing a dark suit with a protective gown over the front to protect that soldier from infection. That’s pretty much SOP when visiting someone recovering from wounds or surgery.

  3. He’s wearing a surgical gown over his suit to protect the patient from germs. I know, it made me look twice too.

  4. One of the things that struck me about the Walter Reed picture is that how many things about this President are “under the radar.” There wasn’t a big media play about him visiting Walter Reed. If it weren’t for that “matter of fact” picture on the White House photographer’s site, people wouldn’t have known he’d done it.

    • Per the daily schedule at TOD he actually goes every couple of months. I’m impressed that he stays awhile to visit, it’s not just a handshake and move on.

  5. And look at those pictures with him in crowds. People LOVE him. That’s why I insist the man will be re-elected by a landslide. President Obama’s the most popular president in my lifetime, I’m willing to bet.

    • His poll numbers are not too pretty but he’s polling better than he should considering the economy.

      • Considering the fact that he’s been polling consistently at around 40 to 45% approval (just like Eisenhower did) tells me that people understand he’s really trying to get the economy going again.

  6. Great pics! I love the one of the garden harvest. This has been a great project of our FLOTUS.

  7. Here’s another one to add
