The Fun Never Stops!
- Tavis and Corny Bus Tour of Stupid. Well guess what folks, Tavis and Smiley aka Tavis and Cornel sideshow is taking a cue from Sarah Palin and going on a bus tour. The Raw Story has the clip where Cornel West doubles down on his stupidity. You may disagree, but these two jokers are stupid.
- Obama did ask for a clean raise of the debt ceiling, gosh! For all those people saying the President should have just asked for a clean raising of the debt ceiling….uh, he did ask for a clean debt ceiling raise — many times — kindly STFU, will you?
- Obama certifies the repeal of DADT. President Obama put the final nail in the coffin of DADT, fulfilling one more promise in an environment in Washington where ANYTHING that actually gets done is a fucking miracle. Bravo Mr. President, Bravo. Oliver Willis as the President’s statement on the repeal of DADT.
- Republicans are playing chicken with the debt ceiling and our future. If you want to read a nice piece that shows how monumentally stupid and dangerous the Republican’s game playing with the debt ceiling is, go over to Stonekettle Station and check this out. It’s long, but Jim Wright is always good, IMO.
- Jane Hamsher is nuts. The title of Milt Shook’s latest piece should tell you exactly what it’s about. “Jane Hamsher — Are you nuts?“
- The Great Grover Flip-Flop. The one and only Joy Reid at The Reid Report has the story on Grover Norquist’s flip-flop this week. Grover, of course, is the real leader of the Republican Party and strikes fear into the hearts of any Republican who doesn’t do his bidding. And a huge congratulations to Joy on her new job(s) at TheGrio.com and MSNBC.
- The Republican Party is a fucking joke. The GOP left debt ceiling talks today while cracking jokes. These children need to be put in time-out or sent to their rooms for the rest of their terms.
- President Obama gets real. President Obama did a townhall this week and The Obama Diary has the video and photos of the townhall event. Ignore all the bullshit coming from the Professional Left and watch our excellent President get real with real people.

More good news. OFA is putting its muscle behind the WI recalls.

Cue the howling about state’s rights and union thugs…
But Obama promised to personally walk the picket line and he didn’t do that so therefore he sucks and we need to primary him with Bernie Sanders!
Bernie Sanders, or whoever.
It’s worth reminding these clowns that when Democrats primary sitting Democratic presidents, the Republicans get the Oval Office.
Of course they’ll say they just want to “push them to the left” some.
Bullshit.
These are people who are either idiots more into the notion of losing pure for some perverse reason sane folks will never be able to apprehend, or Libertarian/Republican ratfuckers like Hamsher or Greenwald.
Both are dangerous to America. Neither deserve respect.
I equate Cornel’s little rhetorical flourishes to Sarah Palin’s word salads with bigger words. He starts down a path with his sentences and just stings together phrases and buzz words and when he’s done, I’m left thinking, that made no sense. But I think a lot of people who have some impression that he’s smart because he’s a professor, just accept that he must have said something smart. I have to imagine that in the academic world a lot of his peers are sick of hearing his same line after all these years.
Semi-related to your second link – I’ve been pondering since last evening, after watching the President’s press conference, how the fuck does Boehner get off not returning a phone call from the President of the United States? What an arrogant schmuck.
Cornel is just pissed because he isn’t the man behind the curtain when it comes to the President. It was very obvious in his first blow-up that the main reason he’s now “against” Obama is because his ass wasn’t properly kissed.
Yeah, I mean what total assholes…a Poverty Tour? Fuck the poor.
That’s a shitty thing to say, David. Do you really mean it? I’m sure there poverty tour won’t have any negative words towards the President and will focus just on helping the poor. When Cornel does interviews on the bus tour, I’m sure he’ll stay focused. I just know it.
And I’m also sure that’ll be one beat up old bus with no air conditioning. I wonder if Exxon and Walmart are sponsoring this for him too? They’ll probably provide the limos for them to arrive at the bus with.
And nothing would have said “Fuck the poor” like not extending unemployment benefits as part of a tax deal. And nothing says “Fuck the poor” more than screaming “kill the bill” — even though said ACA bill included billions more for public health clinics. (Credit where due: a compromise proposed by Sanders in exchange for not getting a public option, which seemed pretty smart at the time, though his “primary him” stuff puts him in the dumb-motherfuckers club.) And the poor are gonna do GREAT under President BachPalinRomney! You betcha!
That’s cute, Kerry. Let me help you simplify your argument.
Strawman. Strawman. Strawman.
There, fixed it for you.
Read your strawman comment and started getting a headache, but, then….

Panic. From the left and the right.
Panic. Panic driven by fear and anger on the left and the right.
You want panic?
I got your panic right here: http://www.nakedcapitalism.com/2011/07/more-shades-of-tarp-latest-deficit-ceiling-plan-to-establish-extra-constitutional-legislative-process.html
And it’s making me very, very angry. Starting with the Hitler comparisons, and continuing in the comments.
WTF? Over…
What’s really cute is that David can’t counter with facts so he resorts to ad hominems. Po Widdle Firebagger can’t find his ass with both hands.
Hi Kerry, just a teensy widdle suggestion.
Perhaps you should look up ad hominem since you are using it incorrectly:
An ad hominem (Latin: “to the man”), short for argumentum ad hominem, is an attempt to link the truth of a claim to a negative characteristic or belief of the person advocating it.[1]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ad_hominem.
I never went after you personally, in fact I addressed your argument in the simplest terms possible. That my dear is not ad hominem. Shall I suggest a Latin class, as well?
