Glenn Beck is going to restore honor to America… with Sarah Palin’s help. So, you know. Thank Biebs for that. While he’s busy doing that, I’m going to go to Palm Springs and hang out with a bunch of gays and minorities and other heathens. And after a full day of drinking by a pool in 112 degree weather, I’m sure I will need to restore honor to My Liver.
I’m not even the slightest bit riled up about this rally. It’s abjectly stupid and it’s self-aggrandizing. This is all about Glenn Beck. And anyone who doesn’t recognize that is an idiot.
Here’s a funny tidbit: The rally organizers handed out brochures and whatnot, advising all rally attendees to stay off the Green and Yellow lines on the DC metro:
If you are on the subway stay on the Red line between Union Station and Shady Grove, Maryland. If you are on the Blue or Orange line do not go past Eastern Market (Capitol Hill) toward the Potomac Avenue stop and beyond; stay in NW DC and points in Virginia. Do not use the Green line or the Yellow line. These rules are even more important at night. There is of course nothing wrong with many other areas; but you don’t know where you are, so you should not explore them.
Yes, do stay off the Green and Yellow lines. That’s where all the black people live. And black people are scary.
You might also want to stay off the Red Line at Dupont Circle. There are gay people EVERYWHERE and you wouldn’t want to accidentally catch the gay. I lived there for a while. It was all I could do to fend off the gay. It’s gone airborne.
Oh and by the way, idiots? You have to take the Green and Yellow lines to get to the National Archives which houses… say it with me… the UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION.
So, way to be an asshat, Tea Party.

Oh, Tea Partiers. I feel sorry for you. You actually have real grievances about shit, but most of you don’t know what the hell to think because you’re letting these crazy megalomaniacs fill your head with bullshit. Oh well. Nothing to do but leave you with a couple of clips from the Most Trusted Journalists in the business and then hop in my elitist car and drive to Palm Springs where I will celebrate the birthday of my rich liberal friend who is a mix of various ethnicities and colors (all of which are probably escary to ye olde Tea Partye), a bunch of Asian chicks (they could be terrorists! You never know!), and a whole lotta gays (and you know how they can be with their homo agenda). Taste the rainbow!

Thanks a LOT Glenn Beck! I live in Arlington, and the traffic delays this weekend were HORRIBLE on I-66. Oh, wait . . . what was that? The delays were what? Caused by the construction on the beltway hotlanes? Oh. Never mind.
But I’m with BB&B – the only mentions by the locals of this “historic event” that I heard were people laughing about how the average IQ in the DC metro area was going to drop drastically over the weekend – And how we could expect to see a bunch of people in jorts and t-shirts with eagles.
HA! A bunch of people in jorts, and t-shirts with eagles, would = an average, summer, weekend day on The Mall. And traffic always sucks. That’s the norm from May to October.
The media needs to stop pretending that these Mor(m)ons are doing anything special. (My Buddhist Kittay keeps wanting to add his 2oiiiiiiiiiiii, vey cents(sense).)
He probably thinks that if King’s movement (in 25 -30 years) brought a black man to the white house, then he can change back the hands of time by holding his fake rally and turning the nation for “white” and “conservative” power. Their dream: less power/less civil rights for blacks, other minorities, gays and lesbians and less of a piece of the American dream.
I normally wouldn’t take men, like Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin (laughable as they are) as dangerous, but they are. NO ONE should underestimate the enemy. Individuals like Beck use any means necessary to pollute, corrupt and muddy the waters to manipulate the masses. Yeah, they do it partly for ratings — but look what the 1990s “talk radio” revolution left us with — eight years of Bush, a war based on lies and thousands dead.
I’ve been called a worrier, but history sometimes repeats itself. Hitler was a failed artist and ended up murdering millions of Jews. And although they might claim otherwise, that’s what Republicans remind me of today. They want to hang blame (no pun intended) on minorities for the failed state that America’s become — the easiest scapegoat is “minorities”. Fear does funny things to people, and that’s what many white, conservative Americans are today. Anyone who’d escape logic and be willing to follow a grandstanding irrational figure like Beck/Palin/Breitbart/Limbaugh/etc; is capable of anything (imo).
Makes me want to grab my Orwell/Bradbury/Huxley books tightly and run for the hills.
What pisses me off about Beck, Palin and others who have never had to struggle because of their skin color or face prejudice, is that they have the nerve to poster as if they’re reclaiming civil rights. They’re just tools for the corporate elite, and whatever powers be — swaying the masses for their own ends.
